Solar Bag

Filed in archive Products by on December 25, 2005

Surely to late for the holidays season - but you might consider this bag for next year (if you know a tech-savy girl). This design bag is equipped with solar cells. It's made to power all those little things modern people need to exist: mobils, pda's, gameboys... You can use a USB 2.0 in the bottom of the bag. The price should be around 300 US$.

The solar bag is made by Joe Hynek and his company Solarjo. Joe won a second price in the 2005 Concept 2 Consumer Design Competition (by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists).

Solarjo's Mission statement is quite good even if this is their first product: "Solarjo strives to invent and develop fashionable wearables that are enhanced with technology." I'll have an eye on them next year cause this is what wearable computing in 2006 will mostly be about. And while talking about 2006, the year with the checksum 8 (whats my number ;-) ->

Happy Holidays
and a healthy 2006!
