Wearables in da house
The smart home gets combined with smart clothing:
About 150 scientists from Europe, North America and Asia gathered in Belfast this week to talk about new technology which will make life easier and offer older people a chance to live independently for a longer time. The conference's theme is "Smart Homes and Beyond".
But the better headline is: Quality of life. Thats a great motivation for Wearables. Even if the conference is about healthcare:
"We want homes that do something to improve your quality of life by keeping you healthy as you age. But we are working at finding engaging, entertaining ways that don't require computer experts." (Stephen S Intille, MIT)
… I think the term "quality of live" is so much bigger and maybe one time Wearables get people off the couch into more action.
