Between the barcode and the RFID: A company called InkSure got patents on a technology to print low-cost chipless RFID's on products. The relation is $0.001 per barcode tag and from 25c to 10$ for RFID.
The company hopes to drive the cost of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags down to less than one cent by using a special ink, said the company's chief executive for US operations, James Assaf.
