New push for W2C business?

HP (this time really) invents a new chip and I promptly think this can push the Wearable-to-consumer (W2C) business.

What I have in mind is the label within every clothing. Add this chip and you can transfer personal information within a minute – is it for security or simple for comfort. It would be just one press of a button to upload onto this chip and could be automatically downloaded via radio.

But let's take a look into the technology (thanks to the RFID weblog):

The chip is equivalent to a size of grain and measures two to four mm square. I was just wondering whether a grain of rice would be bigger as compared to this chip. As of now the protype can hold 512 KB of data which is expected to rise in the future. …
One could communicate with the chip wirelessly and is improved speedwise and the maximum data transfer rate with RFID is 848 kilobits per sec and has a transfer speed of up to ten megabits per second which is ten times faster than Bluetooth wireless technology.

It's just a dot fully loaded with information. Objects may start to talk to you.
