Nano textiles
Nanotechnology still sounds pretty hip and "future". But companies like Nano Tex prove that it's already around us. MSNBC.com gives a short overview and talk about Sensatex too.

Now, high fashion is meeting high tech -- in this case, at Nano-Tex in Emeryville, Calif. which has developed a new fabric that is showing up in Brooks Brothers shirts, Nordstrom ties, and travelsmith sports jackets.

"We haven't even begun the nano-revolution," said Sensatex CEO Robert Kalik.

Nano-Tex is already licensing its technology to 20 of the world's biggest mills, so there's a good chance you may be wearing the fabric and not even know it.


The advantage of nano textiles is that they use molecules instead of wires and computer chips. The result is that fabrics still look and feel like fabric. Organic-IT if you want...
