infant tagging makes sense here

Even if digital authentication using RFID's sounds all-too much like "Big Brother's watching you", here is an application I found on the RFID weblog that utterly makes sense for me. Every invention can be used for ugly things. If you have something in mind that can lead to misuse hereby, please let Anita know!

I think it would be nice to be able to buy a set for home and pram use too.

"VeriChip Corporation, a subsidiary of Applied Digital (NASDAQ: ADSX), a leading provider of security and identification technology, announced today that its 'Hugs' RFID infant protection system has prevented the abduction of a baby at Presbyterian hospitallinks in Charlotte, North Carolina.

On July 15, the Hugs system went into alarm when the infant was removed from the hospital's seventh-floor nursery. Staff quickly responded to the 'CODE PINK' alert, and security officials thwarted the abduction, recovered the infant unharmed and returned him to the safety of maternity ward staff."
