Hightech textiles - note
Just a note about a TV show in Europe that broadcasted an overview about hightech textiles.

First of all, in future Europe can not compete in the traditional textiles business. These materials (like cotton) are made less expensive overseas.

Technology can mean many different things in todays textile industry.

- illuminated textiles like on the picture use electric power and are used within cars (promotion citroen) or very special wedding dresses (the designs were amazing.. not only but mostly at night)

- for the very first time a textile was shown that get electric power from human body heat

- the main research field is nano technology to
invent new surfaces, better reaction to heat and cold etc.
