Where is the fitness industry going? Gadgets, gadgets, wearable. Thats the key-message from "The Raw Story". The experts see a huge trend to more equipment. Even if they think that not all is needed, people buy more and more of them. Most of you know gadgets like the one from Suunto, a Pulse watch that measures seven different parameters. But the next step to wearable is already there.
Amazing is a new product from Polar and Adidas:
The result is a jogging shirt developed in cooperation with Adidas with an integrated electrode. A transmitter sends the data to a small computer that is worn, as usual, on the wrist.
But this new kind of heart-rate monitor does not come cheap: the computer and transmitter cost about 480 euros plus an additional 40 to 50 euros for the shirt.
However, in 5 years we will see a trend back to "a shirt a short a shoe".
