CeBIT 2006 - WarmX
Trade fair check next round: how many companies show wearable computing at worlds largest IT-fair? Answer is: four.

One of them is warmX with a cool (or warm) idea about tech textiles.
They knit a silver plated thread of polyamide into the fabric. At the height of the kidneys there are two meandering heating zones, one at the right side and one at the left side.

To avoid a short circuit, for example, from putting layers of the conductive fabric on top of each other a complex control unit is necessary. For this the Mini-Power-Controller was designed which is a microprocessor control which forms the heart of the warmX-undershirt. The control unit guards the resistance in the circuit and ensures that anyone wearing the shirt is safe.

And what is it good for?
Outdoor / Sport
- hiking and walking
- bicycling and motorcycling (warmX is better than any kidney belt)
- fan at sporting events (standing/sitting for a long time in the cold)
- sailplane (it has no heating and it gets very cold inside)
- diving (in diving dry suits)

Work Clothes
- Equipping the staff can be a worthwhile investment for many entrepreneurs. Staff who have to work in the cold are better able to keep up their health with warmX. It can also contribute to lowering the number of staff being away sick.

- construction workers
- farmer and foresters / lumberman
- gardeners
- surveyors
- camera crew
- in brief: anyone who works in the cold

An underwear shirt for ladies is around 260€.
