A total new internet world
Ryan Stewart posted an interesting idea on his Blog "The Universal Desktop". He said the web is broken and it makes no sense to build more and more web applications. With "broken" he means that everything happens within the browser but it could be better to build new interfaces that allow people to use the web faster and more efficient. Otherwise it would be like to use a Ferrari to commute to work...

The web browser will remain important for viewing the content on the web. When interacting with the web however, people are going to find the browser too limiting and they will want more than the browser can offer them.

Yep - this is where wearable computing is on stage. When we have to understand the web completely different from the browser view and "looking for information" then we have to say Good Bye to Vannevar Bush and his Memex(the founding idea of the internet). Then we have to think completely different about the web itself.

The way to do so is to forget the "information part" and to come back to the "communication part" of the web. And after we understood that communication is a social process that builds social interfaces using language and symbolslinks and so on - we will understand what the next "web" will be about.

Just short but I hope you got the idea. It is about a total new internet world. Some would call it the next technologically based social revolution. I call it the "live web". And the message is: high touch, high tech.
