Part IV - Wearable Computing today

Read Part I (Something has changed) here, Part II (Look into a tomorrows industry) here and Part III (Markets you should look at) here

Back to the branch description: john again: "Wearable Computing means many things to many people. For example smart phones are already wearable and computer. Easier interfaces, for example for mobiles, is one of the big challenges. Another one are wearable displays - how to integrate them?" Eleksen sees itself as a component company.

So John understands "Wearable Electronics" as a part of Wearable Computing - it's job is to build technology to create the interfaces for technical devices. And Eleksen is the only smart fabrics company in the world focused on interface design.

Last but not least I asked John about his "reason why". What brings a marketing manager into wearable computing. It is - often enough - the spirit of the adventure (remember my first entry in this weblog): His key driver is the unique chance to create a brand new market space. And in his own words: "Cool technology has to be marketed proper, otherwise it's just cool technology."

Do you have a question for John? Just leave it in the comments.
Hope you liked the interview? Just let me know.

yours, Michael
