Getting Candle Wax Out of Carpeting and Clothing

If you have accidentally dripped candle wax onto your new carpet, such as from Empire Carpet, for example, then following some simple tips can help you to remove it without damaging the carpet. The techniques are similar for removing candle wax from clothing as well. Some people recommend that you place a paper bag on the floor and iron it. This sounds like a strange method for removing candle wax but those who have tried it say that it really works. In order to avoid getting candle wax stains on your carpet to begin with, it is recommended that you buy higher quality candles.
This is because cheaper candles tend to have a lot of additives that will stain carpets. It is better to choose candles which are made from only paraffin which helps the wax burn better and drip less.
The best way of removing candle wax from new Empire Carpet also depends on the type of material the carpet is made from. If you have carpet that is made from acetate, rayon, triacetate, wool or burlap you should not try to wash the candle wax out because the fabrics are not easily washable. Instead you can try freezing the candle wax by applying ice to it. This will harden the wax and make it easier to remove.
The next step is to scrape the excess wax from the carpet carefully, then place an absorbent pad underneath the area and flush it with a stain remover. Allow this to dry thoroughly and then repeat the steps if the stain is not completely removed. There are different steps to follow if your carpet is made from washable fabric like acrylic, cotton, nylon, olefin, polyester or washable types of wool.
